This is the story of an escape from Italy, through Denmark and
the Czech Republic in the desperate search for a dimension in a
selfishly pre ordered society. The story of an existence of regrets,
alcohol, sex and alienation, with eccentric characters, devoted
to spirit and flesh mortification. Sex is always violent, as an
outpour of a harsh and intemperate life.
"They just do it to keep themselves busy."
A sense of precariousness that clearly intends how all things in
life are bound to die, and we can only drink, talk and tell...
Piergiorgio Leaci teaches English, Spanish and Italian literature
in the Czech Republic. He has published "Sugared strawberries
with whipped cream” and “Strident Waves on a rubber
sea."

to take back what has unjustly been stolen: her dreams and happiness.
She will risk dying to feel once more, just for a fleeting instant,
the shiver of life. And to make the sky cry.
A novel that is truly a little masterpiece

A homosexual woman that loves deeply and is also willing to suffer
for the love that she grants other people.
I have to let my emotions settle a little bit still. In the meanwhile
I will renounce and surrender to the power that Giovanna has on
me. Her triumph is a bitter gulp to swallow, but I have to do it.
I cannot keep on lying to myself. No, it is not true, they are not
lies, if they hurts me so much. If they manage to make me get so
drunk, hoping to stand what my eyes are observing: your head always
turned toward Giovanna, her solicitude towards you, her joy for
conquering her place close to you, while I am isolated.

The novel deals with the homosexual love of two friends that live
together.
...'the geriatric ward', at 11 o'clock in the evening, was completely
absorbed in the faint light. Only a small opening of light, escaping
from room 18, was still recording the presence of somebody still
awake." ...Can't you sleep, Mister Federico?" was heard
by the door. The old man, placing the worn-out book of lyrics that
he was intent to skim through, slowly directed his head toward that
light.
"Who are you?" he asked, trying to focus on the slender
figure.
"I am Mark, a volunteer!" a young voice responded.
Hearing that name the eyes of the old man filled up with tears,
while his heart could not hold a quiver of joy.

A book of tales for children.
In a universe in an unstable balance between the Middle Ages and
advance technology two kids, a boy and a girl, coming from two antithetical
worlds are forced to confront themselves in a continuous exchange
of curiosity, experiences and emotions.
He belongs to the human race, custodian of science and knowledge,
that has transformed the whole galaxy according to its needs; she
belongs to the ancient Animéa race, where the male doesn't
exist, and the woman is responsible for the preservation of nature
against the invasion of technology, even refusing every kind of
progress, writing included. This is the story of one of these meetings:
their personal legend is woven with those of some other couples
until the unforeseen event happens, and the too rigid scheme is
broken and a new one created, where dreams and desires are taken
into consideration : one of the one hundred tales, the last of an
era already concluded and the first of a new world.

Adler Zanoli offers us a novel that belongs to the adventurous
literary genre for young boys where moral values are at the centre
of the story. A novel of rare intensity.
1737.
Martin, an Irish elf, is in charge of crossing the Atlantic ocean
to explore the American territory.
His mission is simple: to find other elves.
In reality however his assignment is even more delicate: to accompany
and protect the young Daniel in the trip in the search of his father
that he has never known.
After overcoming the initial boy's amazement, Martin and Daniel
are embarked on the galleon “Intrepid” for Providence.
It will be the beginning of a long and adventurous trip, that will
bring the two friends first to face the adversities of the sea and
then the unexplored and legendary north America of Indians and farmers.
Sailors, pirates, starving sharks and the legendary Indians are
some of the several characters that he meets in the book, until
the most important meeting: the Duke, his father who departed for
America before his birth.
A trip of formation that will turn Daniel into a small man and will
introduce him to Indian people's pride and courage.
If in the light of the morning the vigour of youth moves, if in
the shade of the afternoon the uncertainties of maturity sprout,
it is at night, "in the dark of the silence", that the
pride of old age is found again.
Fifty years of Italian history told through the eyes of a family
that transforms itself with the country. The abandonment of the
countryside and the arrival in the city; the first conquests; the
struggles and the clash between two worlds: the patriarchal agricultural
one and the modern world.
The plot is wholly connected with the political choices of the elderly
father, member of Gladio and his child member of the Red Brigades.

The drama of two prisoners: a Croatian and a Bosnian. Together in
the hope of surviving in prison in front of the jailers that change
every day because of the war. So they meet first the Serbs, then
the Croatians and finally the Bosnians.
There are not many authors that succeed in the difficult enterprise
of picking up in the short circumstances of the invented characters,
the plots of the story of people. Fewer are those that are able
to do it when the word “people” includes other meanings
like “nations”, and especially when it seems that History
has been forgotten.
With his The twilight of reason Drazan Gunjaca is able to do all
this. He offers the readers and spectators, the wars in ex-Yugoslavia,
the possibility to live or to relive the immense tragedy of the
tortured Balkan land. And to do it, awful to say, with a smile on
his lips.
Drazan Gunjaca was born to Sinj. Yugoslavia, the 7th October 1958.
He entered, completed the period of education, in the Yugoslav Marina
Soldier where he served for ten years, then he resigned after achieving
the Degree in Jurisprudence. Now he lives in Pola where he works
as lawyer and writes.

In Basil there is a park called loneliness. This evening, Lady
Solitude, an impoverished noblewoman, has come to my place to drink
a tea. My untidy house, with my suitcases still opened, never unpacked,
ever packed, epic music and bad mood, that bad mood that sometimes
is a habit.
“Intimate abecedarian” is an itinerary marked by the
dim lights of a lost love. It is a female book that turns the reader
into a voyeur. A book on the other half of life where she, between
vanity and advertising smiles, races toward a love that needs to
be fixed.

A family runs away from Armenia to Italy, bringing with them the
bitterness and the awareness that they will not go back. This way
Siran, when she dies, will not have a land where to be buried. Her
homeland, Armenia, does not belong to her anymore.
Manuela Avakian offers us story with autobiographic roots of rare
intensity and strength.
She observed her father and once more she heard that voice inside
of herself: “No, this cannot happen. It doesn't have to happen.
It doesn't have to happen.”
She didn't want it , she could not lose him, right now. They still
had too many things to say to each other, so many to do together.
She would have liked to take a seat close to him, to lay her head
on his strong shoulder and to explain: “I thought to hate
you when I was a child. I thought that you were bad and mother good.
The usual white and black of children. Later, for years, I have
reflected, I have tried to recompose. We heard your shouts in the
kitchen and in the living room. We heard your accusations and threats,
the weak defences of our mother, her tears. But what did happen
in your bedroom? Between a birth and an abortion? It was there,
most of all that your lives were formed and deformed. And who was,
between you two, mostly frustrated and humiliated? Who was guilty?
